I feel like every Monday I’m either wishing it was still the weekend or imagining how great next weekend will be. I mean, this past weekend was pretty great.
I ran 1.5 miles to the Nearly Naked Mile, a clothing drive/fun run for United Action for Youth. I ran a mile at the Nearly Naked Mile in 8 minutes and 30 seconds, my fastest pace ever, and then I ran 1.5 miles home in the sprinkling ran. And I wore sweet Wonder Woman socks. The next morning I woke up and rode 13 miles on my bike to watch Jason race in the Kent Park Classic (biggest hill I’ve ever seen in a race) and rode 13 miles home. Sunday was great weather for a ride! Even if some crazy woman honked her horn at me.

For dinner last night Jason and I tried this Breakfast Pita Pizza from Iowa Girl Eats.It was really good, but we didn’t put bacon on it (we don’t buy meat for inside the house) and we didn’t put any hot sauce on it… because we didn’t have any. I think adding hot sauce would have really improved it, or maybe adding some green peppers. We’ll try making it again with those additions.
Otherwise for food, we ate out a lot this weekend. Our house is a mess and we were pretty much out of groceries until Saturday. We did go to El Bandito’s for dinner with friends Saturday night and I had Sangria for the first time since September. It is my all time favorite summer drink.

This week I’m really, really looking forward to trying these Zucchini Cakes I found on Pinterest. They were originally on Shape Magazine’s website. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I’m also looking forward to making a lemon cake I saw in an old British Runner’s World.
I’m also looking forward to being done with another paper and take-home midterm by the end of the week. Is it summer yet?
No? Well, next weekend I have the Fool’s 5K in Waterloo, and I’m sure there will be wonderfully fantastic photos from that. I might have to invest in a full out Wonder Woman costume for races like this.
What are you looking forward to this week?
