On Thursday Jason and I visited Target, semi-randomly, and I got caught up in the scrapbooking section. I used to love scrapbooking, but it’s quite expensive and I haven’t really had time to do it in college. I was drawn to the section by these brown notebooks I saw, that looked less like scrapbooks and more like journals. There were several accessories around them, including a date stamp, and I suddenly felt the Target gift card in my bag screaming BUY ONE!
So I bought one. I’m using it as a weight loss journal and over the weekend I scrapbooked photos from Labor Day weekend, which is when I really made a commitment to lose weight, pictures from races, our bike tour, India and so on. It was painful to get those first pictures printed. I hated looking at myself like that. But as I continued scrapbooking I was happy to see the changes and I know by the time that scrapbook is full I’ll have a great book that will motivate me for my whole life.
I’m thinking about adding another 5K to my schedule. In three weeks there is a Spring Time Hill Climb 5K in Pleasant Hill. I’d kind of like to go home that weekend anyway… but my major motivation is the shirts. They look pretty sweet. This is also the first year of this race, so that is kind of special.
I also really feel I must get this Moleskine Passions Beer Journal. I ordered a book for class but it turns out I might not need it. I’m thinking about exchanging it for this journal instead.
Guys… I really have a journal addiction. I won’t even tell you how many Moleskine journals I already own. Not even counting other journals I own. I am planning on reviewing all of the Passions journals I have at a later date.
What’s getting you excited this week?
