You plan for months, and months, and months, and then it’s all over in just a few hours. It’s a hard pill to swallow and there were so many times on Saturday where I just wanted to stop and catch my breath. Of course I could not, and the night went by so, so fast.

We had the wedding exactly the way we wanted to have it, and I wouldn’t change a thing. We wrote our own vows, and I’m told there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I know Jason and I struggled to get the words out. We rode away from the ceremony on our tandem bicycle (no I’m not kidding).

We danced our butts off to a rockabilly band, taught our bridal party some sweet dance moves, drank great Iowa beer and wine, and stuff napkins down our shirts and dresses while eating pulled pork sandwiches.

We gave speeches, we were obnoxious, we laughed, we cried. Everything was just, perfect. And we are the luckiest people in the world.

  1. Congratulations Ash! :-) Your dress is so beautiful, and I’m glad that you had everything just the way you wanted it. Our wedding last year was like that too and such a beautiful day, although it is crazy how fast it passes!

  2. Congratulations, Ash! I love your dress – you look beautiful!! Sounds like you had a wonderful wedding that suited you and your new husband perfectly! Wishing you both the best!!

  3. Congratulations! Wow – looks dreamy, and your dress is GORGEOUS. I love how fun and relaxed everything looks and that you enjoyed it. I can imagine that feeling, though, of anticipating something for so long and then it being finished. Can’t wait to see more photos!
