For four years of college all I wanted was a dog. I grew up with a Maltese dog and when you grow up with a dog it’s a lot harder to not have one. I missed the happy greeting at the door, cuddling on the couch, playing with stuffed animals. I missed it all. I think part of my desperation to move into an apartment again (more on the apartment later) was so I could get a dog.

And just yesterday, it finally happened.

Meet Chase. The sweetest, most easygoing adorable dog ever. And of course I can say that because he’s mine.

He’s a three-year old Papillon who loves to go for walks and take naps on our couch. He’s the reason I’ll never be able to wear a black shirt again.

I’ve already fallen hard for him and it broke my heart to leave him alone while I was at work today. I came home on my lunch hour to let him out and took him for a walk after work before biking to a meeting across town. I’ve never seen a dog who loves to walk as much as Chase–but Papillons are known for being energetic.

I feel like I’ve been waiting for him forever, which I suppose I have.

  1. Oh my goodness!!! He is so so adorable. I hope he brings you much happiness. My Maddie loves to go for walks, and it’s been a crazy couple of weeks, so we haven’t been able to go as much as usual. She has been so restless, and I feel so guilty.

Anyway, love that sweet face, and I’m glad you’re so excited. :)
